Melitta Drechsler

Melitta Drechsler (formerly Melitta George) is an Assistant Ramsey County Attorney in the office's Civil Division.  She drafts, reviews and negotiates Ramsey County's high dollar value procurement contracts, specializing in IT outsourcing contracts.  

Prior to joining the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, Melitta was corporate counsel for Taylor Corporation in Mankato and an associate in the Business Law section of Briggs and Morgan.  She graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 2008.  She can be contacted at president.mnapaba@gmail.com

Alex Dyste

Alex Dyste is an attorney with the Field Solicitor's Office for the Department of the Interior. She graduated from Michigan State in 2011 and the University of Minnesota Law School in 2014.


Benjamin R. Kwan
Immediate Past President

Ben is a plaintiffs' employment litigation attorney at Haller Kwan LLP in Minneapolis. Ben is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law and obtained his undergraduate degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Prior to law school, Ben worked as a television anchor and reporter. During his years as a journalist, Ben was active with the Asian American Journalists Association. This is Ben's fourth year on the MNAPABA Executive Board.

Kevin Ha

Kevin is a Publications Attorney at Minnesota Continuing Legal Education. Before joining Minnesota CLE, Kevin was an associate in the Labor & Employment group at Dorsey & Whitney LLP and served as an Assistant Attorney General at the Minnesota Attorney General's Office. Kevin graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009 and earned his JD from the University of Minnesota in 2013.

Marisa Marek

Marisa Marek is a Client Manager with Thomson Reuters.  She currently works with high value state and local government offices across the United States.  Marisa has also worked as an attorney recruiter in Minneapolis.  Outside of work, Marisa handles pro bono cases through the Immigrant Law Center for Minnesota and enjoys staying active through running and yoga sculpt.   She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2007 and Mitchell Hamline in 2010.

Vincent L. Pham
VP of Communications

Vince is a patent and intellectual property attorney who currently practices at Mueting, Raasch & Gebhardt. Prior to law, Vince worked at Deloitte Consulting and later at a local manufacturers' representative. Vince earned a bachelor of electrical engineering and later a law degree from the University of Minnesota. He began his legal career at Faegre Baker Daniels. Vince and his wife Brenna have one busy little toddler named Lucas who likes running around everywhere.

Aalok K. Sharma
VP of Membership and Member Development

Aalok K. Sharma, a former NCAA Division 1 athlete, is an attorney with Stinson Leonard Street LLP. Aalok is a commercial litigator with a growing focus on matters affecting the sports, media, and entertainment industry. Aalok has written numerous articles and presentations on synthetic turf infill, insurance coverage for athletes, and daily fantasy sports regulation. In addition, Aalok serves as an adjunct associate professor of law at the University of Minnesota law school.  Prior to law school, Aalok worked as a certified public accountant with Deloitte Tax LLP in Washington, D.C., where he served as a consultant dealing with troubled debt restructuring. 

Sukanya Momsen
VP of Outreach and Development

Sukanya is an attorney at Best Buy. Previous to starting at the corporation, Sukanya worked at a mid-sized firm in town and was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Louise Dovre Bjorkman on the Minnesota Court of Appeals.  Sukanya graduated Order of the Coif, magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, and summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

Evan Tsai
VP of Programming


Evan Tsai is an Assistant Public Defender in Ramsey County, Minnesota where he practices primarily criminal defense.  Mr. Tsai devotes his professional time to representing the poor and indigent in all criminal matters including trial.  Mr. Tsai is also an adjunct law professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a legal writing instructor at Metropolitan State University.  Mr. Tsai received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.  Mr. Tsai served as a United States Marine and was honorably discharged in 1999.  Mr. Tsai serves as a board member of the Veterans Defense Project and was previously awarded the Veterans Voices Award through the Minnesota Humanities Center in 2014.
