About MNAPABAThe Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association (MNAPABA) is a community of Minnesota Asian Pacific American and Asian lawyers who support one another, celebrate each other's accomplishments, create opportunities for dialogue on issues of importance to APAs, and highlight APA issues to the legal community at large. MNAPABA (formerly NAPABA-MN) is an affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). MNAPABA is the local Asian bar association, but welcomes people of all diverse backgrounds and experience, offers individuals professional support and opportunities for growth and mentorship, while being the voice of the APA legal community in regards to recruitment, retention, promotion, and recognition of APA attorneys. MNAPABA lends an influential, thought-provoking voice to the causes, initiatives, and conversations that result in the development, welcoming, and advancement of the APA legal community. MNAPABA was organized by four Asian American lawyers in 1989. Currently, there are over 200 members. Our members include judges, attorneys in the private and public sectors, as well as businessmen and women. Our MissionMNAPABA is committed to promoting and supporting the personal and professional development of Asian American and Pacific American lawyers, judges, and law students, serving as an advocate for the Asian Pacific American community in Minnesota, and promoting equal access to justice.
MNAPABA is an affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). NAPABA is the only national association of Asian American and Pacific American attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students. NAPABA was founded in 1988. NAPABA is a powerful advocate for the APA community across the nation. Over 40,000 attorneys comprise NAPABA, their employers range from solo practices to large firms, corporations, legal service organizations, non-profit organizations, law schools, and government agencies. NAPABA is dedicated in advancing civil rights reform, combating hate crimes, and increasing the diversity of the Federal and State judiciaries.
MNAPABA is committed to bringing NAPABA’s mission and goals to Minnesota. In order to advance our mutual goals, we monitor legislative developments and judicial appointments in Minnesota. MNAPABA supports and promotes political leadership and professional development of our members. MNAPABA is a strong advocate for equal opportunity in education and in the workplace. Our members continue to work towards elimination of bias and violence against Asian Pacific Americans.
