Sheila Niaz

Sheila Niaz is a patent attorney and litigation associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, where she focuses on intellectual property and product liability disputes. With a background as a software engineer, Sheila works on cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning, IoT devices, and blockchain. She previously clerked for the Honorable Wilhelmina M. Wright and the Honorable Patrick J. Schiltz, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for Minnesota. Sheila serves on the boards of several organizations, where she is committed to promoting diversity and advancing opportunities for underrepresented groups. In addition to her board service, she provides pro bono legal services to underserved communities and entrepreneurs.

Mingli Wu

Treasurer

Mingli Wu is an Assistant General Counsel at Wells Fargo, focusing on capital markets and securities transactions. With a rich professional background, Mingli has served as a capital markets attorney at Faegre Drinker and Mayer Brown. He also clerked for judges in the Fifth Judicial Circuit of South Dakota, including the Honorable Scott P. Myren. Mingli started his legal career in China as an in-house counsel for a national company. He holds a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and an LLB from China University of Political Science and Law. Mingli enjoys fishing and spending time with his family in his free time.

Maggie (Xingdu) Chen

Maggie is an associate attorney at Ogletree Deakins, where she represents employers in employment litigations. Before becoming an attorney, Maggie was a public-school teacher for four years where she developed strong communication and interpersonal skills that now distinguish her legal practice. She previously clerked for Justice Sarah E. Hennesy of the Minnesota Supreme Court. She also served as the judicial extern to the Honorable Keala C. Ede of the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Honorable John F. Docherty of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Outside of work, Maggie enjoys figure skating and making authentic Chinese cuisine for friends and family.

Brandon is a litigation associate at Fabyanske, Westra, Hart & Thomson P.A., where he practices construction and real estate law. He previously clerked for judges at the Hennepin County District Court and the United States District Court. In his free time, he spends walking his dogs and trying out new restaurants with his wife.

David Lee

VP of Programming

David Lee is an associate attorney at Faegre Drinker, where he counsels public and privately held companies on a variety of corporate matters, including transactions, governance, and mergers and acquisitions. David’s background spans litigation, appellate work, regulatory advice and transactional projects. Before entering the legal profession, David founded two companies — one focused on mushroom-production technology for restaurants and home cooks, and another operating a hemp farm developing carbon-sequestration construction materials and cannabinoid therapeutics. Outside of the office, David has wide-ranging interests that blend creativity, innovation and sustainability, including entrepreneurship, regenerative agriculture, mycology, hydroponics, soil health, woodworking, 3D printing, microelectronics and energy.

Elvis Kim

VP of Programming

Seung Sub “Elvis” Kim is an associate at Carlson Caspers, focusing on patent litigation and intellectual property counseling for national and international clients across industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and telecommunications. Elvis has extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent disputes before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, United States District Courts, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His expertise also extends to patent prosecution, particularly in pharmaceuticals and cannabinoid-related formulations. Outside the office, Elvis is a dedicated athlete who enjoys pickleball and tennis, and has a developing passion for collecting vinyl records.
