The Minnesota Supreme Court is seeking applications from lawyers to serve as a member of the Commission on Judicial Selection. The Governor and the Supreme Court select the members of the 49-member commission that reviews and evaluates applications for vacancies in district court judgeships, some of whom are at-large members who address all judicial vacancies. Currently, a vacancy exists on the Commission for the Supreme Court’s lawyer-appointee from the Tenth Judicial District. The current vacancy is for a partial-term ending on January 7, 2019.
Commission members are expected to actively participate. They receive no compensation or reimbursement for expenses.
Applicants interested in appointment to this position must submit a letter detailing their background. Resumes are welcome but not required.
