Join Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association for an important conversation about the U.S. Congress's recently enacted Savanna's Act. Savanna's Act is a law requiring the U.S. Department of Justice to review, revise, and develop law enforcement and justice protocols to address missing or murdered Native Americans.

Panelists Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn, and Professor Sarah Deer will discuss the provisions of Savanna's Act, its intended impacts, and how our communities can address this important justice issue. A volunteer-based Asian Community Safety Escort group has been established for the Saint Paul area to match people willing to escort or chaperone with other vulnerable members of the Asian community in light of recent attacks that happen to vulnerable, “easy” targets, such as the elderly walking alone at bus stops.
