    Join the American Constitutional Society (ACS) Minneapolis-St. Paul Lawyer Chapter for a series of panel discussions that will dive into the Derek Chauvin trial. Panelists include A.L. Brown (Capitol City Law Group, LLC), John Marti (Dorsey & Whitney LLP), Mark Osler (University of St. Thomas School of Law), and Rasheen Tillman (Tillman Law Firm). The panel will be moderated by Saraswati Singh (Ramsey County Attorney's Office and ACS Member and Next Generation Leader).

    The first event of this series will start Friday, March 26, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. CT. The first session will focus on the charges and jury selection. Additional sessions will continue every other week on April 9, April 23, May , and May 14.

    Join Mitchell Hamline School of Law and MNAPABA member Judge Vuelo of the Second Judicial District for a panel discussion about judicial clerkships and how to prepare to become a judicial clerk. The discussion will be followed by an opportunity for small group discussion with the panelists. Both law students and lawyers are welcome.

    Panelists include: Justice Anne McKeig (Minnesota Supreme Court), Justice Paul Thissen (Minnesota Supreme Court), Judge John Rodenberg (Minnesota Court of Appeals), Judge Jamie Cork (First Judicial District), and Judge JaPaul Harris (Second Judicial District).     Join Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association for an important conversation about the U.S. Congress's recently enacted Savanna's Act. Savanna's Act is a law requiring the U.S. Department of Justice to review, revise, and develop law enforcement and justice protocols to address missing or murdered Native Americans.

    Panelists Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn, and Professor Sarah Deer will discuss the provisions of Savanna's Act, its intended impacts, and how our communities can address this important justice issue. The panel will be moderated by Arielle Wagner, President of the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association and attorney at Lockridge Grindal Nauen.     The Minnesota State Bar Association Labor and Employment Section invites law students to a panel on diverse career paths within the field of labor/employment on over Zoom, moderated by local plaintiff's attorney, MSBA section council member, and MNAPABA member, Ben Kwan.
