We invite you to join us in presenting MNAPABA’s inaugural Award of Distinction to the Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Michelle Lee.
The award presentation will take place on Friday, November 4th at 2:00 p.m. in San Diego during the NAPABA National Convention—specifically, at the Odysea Lounge (opens at 2:00 p.m.) in the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. A meet-and-greet will immediately follow.

Director Lee is receiving the Award of Distinction for her many accomplishments. For example, Director Lee is not only the first APA attorney to be named Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, but she is also the firstfemale to be appointed to the position. In addition, Director Lee has demonstrated a strong commitment to encouraging and promoting women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math through the “All in STEM” initiative. Finally, Director Lee is receiving this award for creating community among female chief patent counsel through the “ChIPs” networking group.
