Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association

An Afternoon with Minnesota's First Asian American Supreme Court Justice

  • Tue, September 29, 2026
  • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • 800 La Salle Ave #2800, Minneapolis, MN 55402

Join us for a fireside conversation with Minnesota's newest Supreme Court Justice as we explore a career defined by many perspectives, especially in public service. From judicial clerkships at the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, to service in the Office of the Federal Defender and years on the Ramsey County District Court bench in addition to time in private practice, this discussion will examine how each role has shaped the justice's perspective on the law, public service, and the administration of justice. The conversation will also reflect on the justice's historic appointment as the first Asian American to serve on the Minnesota Supreme Court, offering insights on representation and mentorship that can help envision possibilities that may have been unapparent previously.

After the fireside chat, guests are welcome to enjoy a reception. Attendees can join for any portion of the event, but must register in advance.
