Join the Council of Asian Pacific Minnesotans for the API Day at the Capitol 2022 Rally and Meet and Greet:

    • Rally: This year, the Rally program will feature the following speakers: Senate Majority Leader Miller, Speaker Hortman, and three Asian Pacific Minnesotans whose leadership and work have been critical to all of our communities during the hardships of the last two years.
    • Location: Capitol Rotunda
    • Time: 10:30 A.M.—11:30 A.M.
    • Purpose: To encourage Asian Pacific Minnesotans to be increasingly present in the People’s House. This component of API Day brings together community members, organizational leaders, and elected and appointed leaders to create a synergy of community and legislative empowerment. Community members will hear from policy and community leaders about issues impacting our communities and the state and how we can all work together to address these concerns. The Rally will be live-streamed online for those who cannot attend in person.
    • Meet and Greet: Immediately following the Rally in the Rotunda, we invite you to join members and leaders of our diverse Asian Pacific communities, policy makers, and other state leaders for a “Meet and Greet” in the Capitol Vault. Community organizations and leaders invited to this event have been on the front lines every day, helping our communities navigate the numerous and unexpected challenges that have arisen because of the pandemic. During this time of more personal conversations, we ask that you share with state leaders how your work has made all the difference in the lives of your community and our state, especially during these COVID years. In hosting this Meet and Greet, we strive to help facilitate new relationships and strengthen existing relationships between you, our legislative and executive branch leaders, and other Asian Pacific Minnesotans from across the state. Refreshments will be provided.
    • Location: Capitol Vault
    • Time: 12:00 P.M.—1:30 P.M.
    • Purpose: To provide designated space and time for legislators and community members/leaders to make connections and discuss with one another the issues that matter to them in a more personal manner relative to the Rally and legislative visits.
    • Legislative Visits:
      • Location: Virtual meetings, potentially in-person dependent on availability
      • Time: April 20 and 22, timing dependent on scheduling
      • Purpose: To provide community members and organizations the opportunity to hold fully supported, direct meetings with legislators, including Committee Chairs, on the issues identified by the community.
