Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan are committed to the goal that all working Minnesotans should be able to earn a family-sustaining income. State licensing boards are an important part of ensuring a just, safe, and thriving working environment across multiple professions. The Governor and Lt. Governor are seeking applicants who are dedicated to working towards a more equitable workforce. Board of Medical Practice (7 vacancies): The duties of the Board of Medical Practice include the licensure and enforcement of statutes, laws, and rules related to the professional practice of physicians, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, acupuncturists, athletic trainers, genetic counselors, naturopathic doctors, and traditional midwives. The Board also serves as a resource to consumers and stakeholders in the health care delivery system. Vacancies include 4 public members and 3 physicians (1 at-large physician, 1 physician from Congressional District 8, and 1 physician from Congressional District 1).
Minnesota Board of Social Work (3 vacancies): The Board of Social Work promotes and protects the public health, safety, and welfare through the licensure and regulation of persons who practice social work in this state. Vacancies include 2 licensed social workers (LSW) and 1 licensed graduate social worker (LGSW) or licensed independent social worker (LISW) or licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW).
Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans (1 vacancy): The Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans (CAPM) currently has one vacancy. The Governor and Lieutenant Governor are seeking qualified and diverse individuals who are passionate about using their knowledge, skills, and lived experiences to serve the state of Minnesota. CAPM works with the legislature and Governor to address economic, social, legal, and political equality for Minnesota’s API communities.
