    The U.S. Department of Justice Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) is seeking qualified candidates from all backgrounds to join its immigration judge corps. Interested parties are invited to attend a virtual information session where senior EOIR staff will discuss the immigration judge career path, duties, qualifications, and benefits of being an immigration judge. There will also be information about applying for immigration judge positions when they become available, as well as a Q&A session. For more information or to register, please click here

    The next immigration judge position is scheduled to open in early April. Interested parties can receive a notification when the announcement is posted on USAJOBS, by signing up for EOIR's Adjudicators Announcement listserv.

    Join the Very Asian Foundation (VAF) for a mixer at Asian-owned Arbeiter Brewing in Minneapolis. VAF is partnering with We Need Diverse Books to deliver more than 70 books to two Twin Cities schools through the May Book Project, which aims to help schools and libraries build and maintain robust Asian American youth literature collections for all readers, and provides funding to donate books to at-need libraries. The keynote speaker will be Sylvia Acevedo, a trailblazer who started as a rocket scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratories, and also worked as a tech executive at Apple, Dell, and IBM, as White House Commissioner, and as former CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA.     Twin Cities Diversity in Practice is excited to bring its recent report, "Eliminating the Barriers Employers Face in Retaining Attorneys of Color" to life with the talents of Blackout Improv.     The Minnesota State Bar Association D&I Council, Minnesota Coalition of Bar Associations of Color, and the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association have put together a conference focused on criminal justice and eliminating racial disparities, featuring keynote speaker former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.     Building on the success of the original exhibit in 2018, former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice and NFL Hall of Famer Alan Page and his daughter Georgi, the director of the Diane and Alan Page Collection, are again presenting their exhibit of Americana from slavery to today, with renewed calls of action.

     

    Selections from the family's extraordinary collection of African American art and artifacts will be on display at the Cargill Gallery, accompanied by TESTIFY Tuesday workshops and mainstage programming designed to help bridge divides, deepen dialogue, and encourage action on justice.
